One of the critical areas of governance is developing policies for managing public health emergencies such as a COVID. While tackling such health emergencies, the government may take measures that involve the absciation of liberty on the part of the citizens. Recently as seen during COVID pandemic, government had to take stringent measure like nationwide lockdown & to ensure protection of lives & livelihood.

Ethical principles that should guide the government's public health policymaking

i) Citizen participation or Inclusivism - Citizen must have voice in decision making through multistakeholder approach of policy making

ii) Transparency - the information regarding the policy must be freely available & directly audible to those who will be affected by it
