Introduction

As the supreme court remarked in the Kesur Singh case, the Preamble is the resom of constitution, a key to secul the minds of constitution makers and integral to our polity.

Core ideals of Preamble => bedrock of constitution:

1Sovereignty => the government of India is the prime independent authority, and the constitution reflects the same independence.

eg: Article 1 => 'India is a union of states' and the source of power comes from government.

2Socialism => Fabian school of thought, that believe in welfare state, with equitable development and social justice.

eg: Part IVA => Directive Principles of state policy reflect the socialistic aspiration.

3Secularism => added to the Preamble through 42nd AA, 1976, but fundamental rights (like RS-89) Article 15, 16 etc reflect secular now Indian const. balance right to religion with constitutional morality.
