Main Body

The Aspirational Blocks Programme is a step further in transforming blocks.

ABP and balanced growth:

1ABP is focusing on the most underdeveloped and underperforming blocks, seeks to bring them at par with the developed parts of a state
2This ensures equitable and balanced growth which benefits the worse off
3Additionally, it seeks to replicate the successes of developed blocks in the underdeveloped blocks.

ABP and stress migration:

1By improving the conditions of backward performing blocks it seeks to check stress migration.
2Most people migrate due to lack of employment and educational opportunities in their area of residence
3ABP by stimulating growth of identified blocks seeks to provide better jobs, educational and health opportunities in the block itself.

Thus ABP seeks to achieve the twin objective of balanced growth & stress migration.
