1Geography - separated from rest of India by peninsular upliftment, Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats.
2Dress - due to climatic and economic differences, mainly wears cotton dhotis, kurtas, sarees etc., as compared to wool in N. India, jute etc. in Eastern India.
3Language - most of south Indian languages have 'Dravidian' roots, different from Austro-Asiatic, Aryan and Sino-Tibetan families.
4Architecture - Dravidian temples are mainly stone-based, detailed craftings etc.
