Delhi Sultanate extended from twelfth century AD to 1526 when Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodhi at Battle of Panipat.

Emergence of Indo-Persian culture:

A) Literature

1. Hindawi was developed by amalgamation of Hindi and Persian.

2. Amir Khusrau played key role in it.

3. Urdu also prospered due to influence of Persian and Hindawi.

B) Architecture

2. Hindi motifs used on Islamic structures. Eg Lotus, Swastik, etc.
