1Unity in diversity -- Indian society is mosaic of cultures & symphony of voices.
2Sarva dharma Sambhava -- Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity - all flourishing.
3Historic unity and subcontinental identity -- assimilation of Kushanas, Turks etc.
4Tolerance, acceptance, and continuity -- civilization.

Some diverse practices - deepening heterogeneity:

1Different faiths -- Vaishnava, Shaivism, Digambara, SIKH, Sufi
2Multilinguistic society -- 19000 languages & dialects spoken in India.
3Multiethnic society -- different dressing, culture, traditions -- Assamese Gaochia, Tibetan, festivals.
4Geography based diversity -- Shompane, North-Eastern, Sambab, tribe (ARN), Equatorial, coastal regions.

These are prone to challenges like forces of globalisation, regionalism, secession.

But India continue to face these challenges & emerge more united and more resilient.
