Rainforests refer to type of vegetation found in areas with high and perennial rainfall.

Key characteristics: Perennial rainfall (>2000mm). Wildlife is limited due to thickness of vegetation eg: Only birds, snakes, monkey, etc. Absence of dry winters as daylight does not reach ground. Threats faced: 1. Deforestation due to lumber, infrastructure, roads & oil & gas sessions. 2. Contamination of land and water due to pollution, eg: fracking

Conclusion

Rainforests are lungs of earth due to their sole in air purification, water cycle etc. They must be preserved to ensure climate change's effort aint severe. Sustainable resource use, afforestation, decreasing human consumption etc are some of the way forward.
