Gandhian politics as a continuation to Tilak:

i- Accepting religion in public sphere: Gandhiji including Khilafat issue; Tilak including festivals like Ganeshotsav

ii- Swaraj was essentially the birthright of every citizen held by both

iii- Inclusion of Masses: Tilak via Home Rule League; Gandhi via Mass struggle

iv- Gandhiji assumed President's role as Home Rule League of Tilak (included it in INC's fold reflecting 'Continuation')

However Gandhian politics had stark differences from Tilak:

i- On issue of communal harmony: Tilak was against including Khilafat issue
