India's freedom struggle involved various sections of society whose sacrifices ensured our tryst with destiny in 1947.

Emergence of working class in their movement:-

-i- Militant excluded by the Moderates it was with emergence of Gandhi that they were involved fully eg Non Cooperation Movement 1920

-ii- All India Trade Union League (AITUC) cemented their eight place, created a unified approach eg strikes, harvests

-iii- With disappearance of handicraft due to loss of patronage, the working class faced huge exploitation in agriculture and industry which ignited them to respond

Contribution

-i- United under the leaders and ensured a mass struggle in NCM 1920 & CSM 1930 eg LL Rai was President of AITUC

-ii- Approach of unity & cooperation at Gandhiji aimed to bridge the class divide eg Ahmednagar Mill Strike 1918

-iii- Non Cooperation with oppressive economic activities of British companies reduced their economic strength
