The recent IPCC report mentioned alarming 2°C rise in temperature of the Indian ocean near equatorial region since industrialization. Food security is defined by FAO as the situation when all the people at all the time have access to safe, nutritious & balanced food.

1Led to surge in cyclones in the western & eastern foothills of India (eg- cyclone Tauktae, Amphan). With insufficient Amphibious capacity, infrastructure, it affects food security.

2Decreased agricultural productivity due to rising ocean temperatures. As delayed Monsoon will come (As per Niti Aayog, 55% of India's farmers are monsoon dependent).

3The rising temperature of ocean, will destroy the Haaedu life, including fishes (crustaceans, zooplankton, phytoplankton). Thus direct hit on blue economy and food security of India.
