Main Body

Consolidation of Bengal started in these warsImportant kings like Bengal strong offered the disproportional privileges to Britishers.Britishers faced first time challenge when Bengal king (Nawab) imposed same restrictions on Britishers trade & Dak

Mir Qasim fell his ceremonial puppet position and the realization led to affortion & war.

Battle of Buxar more important than Battle of Plassey

1Battle of Buxar gave Britishers the Diwani rights over Bengal Bihar & Orissa.
2It was Battle of Buxar which strengthened their hold in India → Defeated alliance of Qasim, Shih Alam & Shuja-ud-daulah.
3Many other benefits were awaited by Britishers → Treaty with Shuja-ud-daulah and shah Alam → War indemnity → Areas like Awadh which will be later used as buffer

However it can't be said that battle of Plassey (1757) was less important

1Siraj-ud-daulah was very powerful & capable king who opposed Britishers trade & impositions in bengal.
2He was defeated & killed by British deception and alliances with people of his army who lacked devotion to fight leaving king alone.
3Plassey can be said as the starting point of Bengal's consolidation and Britishers arrival in the area more strongly (not only trade but administration through puppets like Mir Jafar)

Thus both the battle played very crucial role in Indian history but it's the Battle of Buxar which saw game-changer for British East India Company
