Introduction

Dandi March was launched in 1930 by Gandhiji who marched from Sabarmati to Dandi to break notorious Salt tax imposed by British on manufacture & sale of Indian salt.

Significance of Dandi March:

Started the Civil Disobedience Movement
Notorious Salt tax was imposed on Indian salt found on Indian seas & lands used by all Indian people as everyday item by British ruler
