○ Better Employment Opportunities: in MNCs like Google, Apple
○ New Ideas of life eg: egalitarianism, social equality, as seen in Scandinavia
○ Better Connection: with world to know happening. E.g. News on Facebook
○ Expression: due to social media proliferation
○ Independence: due to better finance & Western culture influence.
Negative Impact:
○ Reduced kinship Ties: due to disintegration of joint households
○ Skewed Impact: due to bias against sexual & marginalised youth (LGBTQ, Dalit in particular)
○ Blind Westernisation: Craze loss of own identity. Eg: Jeans over dhoti
○ Poor Health: Due to McDonalidization of food habits. Eg: Fast food.
○ Yuppy Culture: Not contributing to National progress
Conclusion
Globalisation is a double edged sword. We must utilise it paste impact to build New Modern India by discarding the negatives.
