Introduction

volcanoes are vents in earth's crust from which magma creates layers.

Main Body

Distribution of volcanoes: (1) Primary found at conjunction of two continental plates. (2) Mid oceanic ridges - Divergence of two oceanic plates -> lava comes out -> submarine volcanic age. (3) Circumpacific ring of fire - in outermost pacific ocean -> convergence of oceanic and unsubducted plates (subduction) gives rise to volcanoes. Examples: Hugajagas, kilimanjaro, Hawaii. Consequences of volcanoes: (1) Impose large amount of ashes & pyroclastic material - is pollution, reduces albedo also on in/glaciale wildfires. (2) Threat to livelihood - settlements in valleys (eg Mt. Vesuvius - deadly)

Source of minerals & ores - molten magma solidifies to form venous minerals (eg. Deccan Traps); can induce earthquakes - due violent blasting of magma; creation of fertile soil (eg. place soil in Deccan Traps); Health concerns - airway illness, burn injuries - to humans, animals, & deterioration of water quality.
