Spanish Civil War took place during mid 1930s and was struggle between right faction led by Franco and left wing led by communists, socialists.

1Hitler and Mussolini: Armed support of hitler including bombings to support right led by franco called allies powers.
2Failure of League of Nations: League of Nations failed to quell Spanish violence and also did not act against hitler for bombings.
3Italy-Germany: After invasion of Abyssinia Proximity Mussolini grew away from west and bent closer to hitler by pledging support to hitler.
4Appeasement by Allies: reluctance by Allies to act against hitler emboldened him to acquisition of Russia and invasion of Poland.
