There is a water tank in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped of height 1.1 m and a square base of side 2 m. If a full tank of water is drained out completely in a long pipe of circular cross – sectional area of radius 1 cm, what should be the minimum length of the pipe, in km, to hold the entire water in it? (Take π=227)

Explanation
The tank's volume is 1.1 x 2 x 2 = 4.4 cubic metres = 4.4 x 10^6 cubic cm. The pipe's cross-sectional area is pi x r^2 = (22/7) x 1^2 = 22/7 sq cm. The required length is volume / area = (4.4 x 10^6) / (22/7) = 1.4 x 10^6 cm = 14 km, option (c).
