A sinusoidal transverse wave is travelling in string. Any point of the string moves in
General SciencePhysics
- ASHM with the same angular frequency as that of the wave
- BSHM with a different frequency than that of the wave
- CUniform circular motion with the same angular speed as that of the wave
- DUniform circular motion with a different angular speed than that of the wave
Explanation
In a transverse wave each particle of the string oscillates perpendicular to the propagation direction in simple harmonic motion, driven at the wave’s own angular frequency ω. It is SHM, not circular motion, and at the same — not a different — frequency. Hence (A).
