Explanation
'Khoob ladi mardani woh to Jhansi wali rani thi' is the celebrated opening line of Subhadra Kumari Chauhan's poem 'Jhansi ki Rani' (1930), an ode to Rani Lakshmibai's valour in the 1857 revolt. Composed in 1930, it remains one of the most recited Hindi poems on the 1857 revolt. Chauhan is also known for her nationalist verse written during the freedom movement.
