Explanation
Part IV-A of the Constitution, comprising Article 51A, was inserted by the 42nd Amendment (1976) on the recommendation of the Swaran Singh Committee and deals with the Fundamental Duties of citizens. There were originally ten duties; the 86th Amendment (2002) added an eleventh relating to providing educational opportunities to children aged 6–14. Unlike Fundamental Rights, these duties are non-justiciable and serve as moral obligations of citizens.
