Explanation

Harappan seals depict animals such as the humped bull (the most frequent), the buffalo, the tiger, the rhinoceros, the elephant and the crocodile/gharial. The lion is never shown on Harappan seals; it becomes a prominent motif only later, for example in Mauryan art such as the Sarnath lion capital. Hence the lion is the animal that does not appear on the seals.
