During the Delhi Sultanate period, diamond mining was carried out at Panna in present-day Madhya Pradesh (Bundelkhand region). Panna's diamond mines were famous in medieval accounts and continued to be worked in later centuries. Awadh, Khambhat and Lakhnauti were not diamond-mining centres. The answer is (C).
