Who among the following founded the Hindu Dharma Sabha in the 19th century?
General KnowledgeHistory of India
- ARadhakanta Deb
- BRam Mohan Roy
- CDwarkanath Tagore
- DKeshab Chandra Sen
Explanation
Radhakanta Deb, the orthodox Hindu leader of Calcutta, founded the Hindu Dharma Sabha in 1830 to oppose Raja Ram Mohan Roy's reform campaign (notably against the abolition of sati). Ram Mohan Roy founded the Brahmo Samaj, Dwarkanath Tagore was a businessman-reformer, and Keshab Chandra Sen led a later Brahmo faction. Hence Radhakanta Deb is the founder.
