In the joining of railway tracks, iron oxide is made to react with
General KnowledgeChemistry
- AAluminium
- BZinc
- CCopper
- DTin 47
Explanation
In thermite welding of railway tracks, iron oxide reacts with aluminium powder in a highly exothermic reaction, producing molten iron. Zinc, copper and tin do not serve this role. Hence iron oxide is made to react with aluminium.
