According to the Economic Survey 2021-22, electricity, gas, water supply and other utility services was the only sub-sector to record positive growth in 2020-21, at 1.9 per cent. Mining and quarrying contracted by 9.2 per cent and financial, real estate and professional services by 1.4 per cent. Public administration, defence and other services also contracted, by 4.1 per cent in real GVA terms. Agriculture was the only other broad sector with positive growth, but it is not among the options.
