General KnowledgeBiology
- AProteins
- BCarbohydrates
- CLipids
- DBoth Proteins and Carbohydrates
Explanation
Urea is the end product of protein metabolism in humans. Amino acids from proteins are deaminated, releasing ammonia, which the liver converts to urea via the urea (ornithine) cycle. Carbohydrates and lipids do not yield urea on metabolism. Hence urea is produced by metabolism of proteins.
