At the time of short-circuit, the current in the circuit:
General KnowledgePhysics
- Areduces substantially
- Bdoes not change
- Cincreases heavily
- Dkeeps on fluctuating
Explanation
A short circuit provides a near-zero-resistance path between the terminals. By Ohm’s law (I = V/R), the current rises enormously. This heavy current heats the wires and can cause fires, which is why fuses and MCBs are installed. So at short-circuit the current increases heavily.
