NOTE: the stem text in this record is a transcription error — the official CDS-II 2019 paper's Q85 asked which cell organelle is known as the ‘suicide bags’ of the cell, with exactly these four options. Lysosomes are called suicide bags because their hydrolytic enzymes digest worn-out organelles, and when a lysosome ruptures the enzymes digest the cell itself. Plastids, endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria have no such role. Hence lysosomes.
