Explanation

The Indigenous Aircraft Carrier-1, launched at Kochi in 2013, was named INS Vikrant after India's first aircraft carrier, and was commissioned in 2022. INS Viraat was the older Centaur-class carrier decommissioned in 2017, INS Vaibhav is not a carrier name, and INS Vikramaditya is the Russian-built Kiev-class carrier. Hence the IAC-1 is named Vikrant.
