Explanation

The Nalayira Divya Prabandham is the collection of 4,000 Tamil hymns composed by the Alvars, the Vaishnava poet-saints (compiled by Nathamuni in the 10th century). The Nayanars were Shaiva saints, while Appar and Sambandar were individual Nayanars. Hence the composers were the Alvars.
