As per IRENA's Renewable Capacity Statistics 2026, India ranks third in the world in total renewable energy installed capacity, behind only China and the United States, on the back of rapid solar and wind additions. India also ranks fourth globally in installed wind power capacity, after China, the United States and Germany. Both statements therefore match the published global rankings for the reference year.
