Which one of the following is not an operating system?

general-sciencebiotech-environment-science

AMS-Windows
BLinux
CUbuntu
DMS-Excel

Explanation

MS-Excel is an application software (a spreadsheet program) — it runs on an operating system but is not one itself. MS-Windows (option A), Linux (option B) and Ubuntu (option C, a Linux distribution) are all operating systems that manage hardware and provide a platform for applications. Hence option D is the one that is not an operating system.
