Nylon (a polyamide), DNA (a polynucleotide) and Bakelite (a phenol–formaldehyde resin) are all formed by condensation polymerization, with elimination of small molecules like water. Polythene is formed by addition polymerization of ethene with no by-product. Hence polythene is not a condensation polymer.
